“Embracing Public Speaking - 5 Tips to Minimize Anxiety”
Joy Jones: A 20-20 investigation indicated that the top fear of individuals in Western Society is public speaking. Furthermore, research on communication apprehension suggests that women experience slightly higher levels of public speaking anxiety than men. Researchers report that as a result of higher levels of public speaking anxiety, women often fail to seek opportunities for public speaking training and volunteer less than men to communicate in public speaking contexts. This may limit growth in careers where public communication is required, representing a meaningful barrier in the career advancement of women. This session provides women with five tips to minimize public speaking anxiety.
